Herts Careline will celebrate International Control Room Week 2024 during 21-27 October 2024. In fact, we plan to extend the week for three weeks to make sure all our Call Operators on a rolling shift pattern can mark the occasion.

International Control Room Week highlights the critical role played by emergency teams dealing with life critical and stressful situations every day, 24 hours a day. So we'll proudly take our place and join thousands of Control Room staff across the globe in a celebration of their work as the unseen frontline of the emergency services.

We are really proud of our control room and the critical role our team play so to join other control rooms across the world to recognise the magnificent work that goes on behind the scenes is a real honour. We’re taking this opportunity to raise awareness of Herts Careline’s emergency community alarms and telecare service to the general public and celebrating our amazing call operators who are so dedicated to their role. And, not forgetting that we won the national Control Room Awards Team of the Year in 2022! Herts Careline wins Team of the Year at national awards!

International Control Room Week is supported by around 200 control room operations and more than 10,000 personnel from police, ambulance, fire and coastguard services across the UK, as well as control rooms from across the globe.

Careline provides assistive technology such as community alarms, pendants and telecare for the people of Hertfordshire. The service aims to helps residents who have its equipment more freedom to live independently in their own home with the peace of mind of knowing that if they become unwell or have a fall, they can get help quickly - 24/7 from our Letchworth based Control Room.
